Free Workshop on Linux Installation

A free workshop on how to install Linux system. Introduction to shell scripting.

Overview

  • The workshop will start  with discussion and understanding of the Free/Opensource philosophy, how it started, who is RMS. Linus Torvalds.
  • The discussion of understanding  difference between free as in freedom and free as in free of cost.  We will discuss how it is possible to earn while working with opensource software.
  • The concept of a Linux distribution and the purpose and use of different distributions like Ubuntu, Fedora, Centos, Slackware, Debian
  • To demonstrate how even a Latest Linux could be installed in older H/W  we installed the same on a Desktop machine which has a conifguration of 1 GB RAM, Core 2 Duo Intel processor and 200 GB HDD.
