If you are using GNU/Linux and have been using a webcam then you might have noticed that there are no tools or controls available for setting the webcam's brightness, contrast, hue, sharpness etc.
What you need to do is install v4l2ucp - A universal control panel for all Video for Linux Two (V4L2) devices.
